Bravo to Ron MacLean.
Take a look at what courage-of-your-convictions looks like. This is a proud and progressive Canadian moment.

Many years ago I was cutting through the CBC lobby with Frank’s nephew, Jon, and Ron spied us and brought Jon right up on set to sit in Don’s chair and chat. Jon was over the moon. This man is a class act. @RonMacLeanHTH

I don’t see much progressive or courageous here. A love letter to Don Cherry & his HNIC fans. Struck me as more hero worship of Cherry. Cherry’s comments were at minimum divisive to Canadians. That’s why he’s gone. What bridges were built by hockey in Ron’s speech tonight??

MacLean throwing Cherry under the bus would've seemed weird and harsh. He'd already been fired. But I agree, Ron's piece ended with Cherry up on a pedestal. They'd have been better off not addressing it and letting his firing be the clear message that it was.

If Don Cherry gets respect for standing for what he believes in, then do should Ron Maclean 🙌🏻

Conviction, with 20/20 vision of the past, the thumbs up is all you need to see when thinking of this guy.
