Further to the previous statement, we would like add the below. This will be our final comment on the matter.

It’s almost 2 years since me and broke the Westminster bullying & harassment story for . I’ve written a piece on why ’s comments yday symbolise a lack of cultural change - & why that’s so very problematic:

The discontinuity in the 14/15/16 changes will be better - the shift to 18 is a totally notional shift

It is essential that the House of Commons Commission recommends a properly independent process for determining complaints against MPs that the whole House can agree, so that staff and Members can have full confidence in the system.

(That gives me pause: but short of the Sun having been taken in, it is hard to work out what could explain or excuse this sort of behaviour.)

A fairly remarkable story, here. If it is as it seems, hard to understand why he remains in post.

Leaked waiting times point to a partially collapsing NHS in Northern Ireland where in certain areas there's little hope of some people being treated. For some of them, even getting to the top of the list doesn't mean treatment, with 3 further waiting lists.

(The fact that it was Emms intended to be in that painting, incidentally, is why it looks so weird. The symbolism was supposed to be that he had a woman at his side. Rather than... another middle-aged bloke.)

Your annual reminder, too, that Bercow had Kate Emms painted out of his portrait, and replaced with her successor.

Sinclair's successor, Kate Emms, was forced to leave her post - and the House had to put in place measures to protect her in her next jobs after it was determined she had PTSD.

I asked Angus about this precise point - how could a Royal Navy officer be intimidated by this little man - and he said the Navy was pretty robust about throwing out disruptive people. A bully on a submarine is dangerous

Angus Sinclair was a career Royal Navy officer - a submariner - who was paid £86k to sign an NDA after a year working for Bercow. No doubt Angus could have decked Bercow, but he was belittled, mimicked, gaslit, undermined, shouted at.
