I've had numerous discussions with black CS students who have stories like this. Here's some unsolicited advice to all CS profs: read this thread and do better. Ya'll think you're helping but instead you're driving great students away from our field with your nonsense.

Not correct actually, this is forensics not involving audit logs. The audit logs are active now for future conferences.

This doesn’t seem like a good faith question. If it is please reword it.

This commit was requested by SIGARCH, and it was deployed in September, so more stuff is going on behind the scenes, but maybe not enough!

Depending on what the “review process” means, they may not have been contradicted. I don’t have access to their investigation, but we have no evidence yet that this paper’s acceptance was improperly influenced.

The first public accusation was that the PI inappropriately influenced the paper’s reviewers because they were his “friends.” You don’t need server logs to investigate that. I have been in contact with SIGARCH people on related matters.

There is no evidence so far that the authors had access to reviewer identities while preparing their response. I am not confirming or denying any reviewer identities, but many people are misreading the first set of images.

I don’t want to confirm or deny any specific reviewer identity, so you’ll have to trust me, but that is but that is not what the screenshots show. We do not know which reviewer names, if any, the authors knew before the rebuttal.

I encourage anyone with evidence of misconduct involving sites to reach out to me with their concerns and evidence. After evidence is shared, I also encourage the deletion of inappropriately obtained data.

But I could not have helped them then. This is all based on the information posted anonymously.

The SIGARCH & TCCA chairs have stated that there was “no evidence of misconduct as part of the paper review process” at ISCA '19. This evidence shows misconduct at ISCA '19. So far that misconduct appears to have occurred after acceptance decisions were made.

It is possible that a hack of some kind was used to exfiltrate this data, but seems unlikely. It is possible also that PC member credentials were used without their knowledge. HotCRP now tracks more information about paper and review downloads.
