And also in construction, maintenance, traditional crafts, etc., as well as knock on effects in traditional building material suppliers, etc.

Probably no one. Villages in Korea are depopulating because of a lack of jobs not development restrictions. A UNESCO classification brings job to the area.

Excess selenium from fertilizers can lead to cancer and Type 2 diabetes in humans, evidence from Salton Sea, California. It is time we reconsider modern agriculture. phys.org/news/2020-02-a…

Someone calculated it to about 4500 pounds today. The materials are cheap or free, labor would be the expensive part. Medieval buildings did not have expensive fittings like electric wiring, indoor plumbing, WiFi, central heating etc. Labor today is far more expensive though.

Of course. Much more attractive and guaranteed to have better public funding and not be ruined by thoughtless neighbors or development.

They are appealing for the simple reason that their setting (be it walls, moat, island, peninsula, hedges, mountainsides, etc.) enclose them. Having few entrances is a good thing. A valley town has one or two.

These products all use the same water as what we get in our public water systems, and are terrible from environmental aspects.

Yes, Korean coastal villages were raided by Chinese, Korean and Japanese pirates. The first wall was made of sand and built in one go, the second wall was made of stone as the sand wall proved difficult to defend. Both constructions were probably fairly quick, months.

We have tons of photos, drawings, plans, paintings, of old buildings. Many beautiful buildings have not survived. I have yet to locate one real building (and not a gimmick bldg, even our ancestors built a few of those) that was as ugly as what we build routinely now.

You can go there (or to any of the thousands of identical designs worldwide) and see how much they make you want to hang out. The sniper bit is a joke to play up the unfriendliness of the maximum security bunker (clad in glass). No trees to block field of fire.
