Hi y’all! I have an enormous project for 2020 that I will need your help with. If you have a favorite indie bookseller, or a local bookshop even if it’s not your fave, will you please send me the name & city? Thanks, and please RT!

Important & in-depth reporting from our campus newspaper on the inner-workings of the hate group that the UNC system has just gifted $2.5 million. If you were not scared before, if you were previously unconvinced, if you didn’t realize the danger that the institute is funding...

I so deeply admire my colleague William Sturkey. It’s impossible to explain how demoralizing life often is at UNC and how many people are complicit by saying the administration is just doing the best it can.

. doesn't even pretend to not be racist. Here's a swarm of white people jumping turnstiles and not a cop in sight.

I don’t understand how the publishers could be so careless in the creation of this book. It seems so uncaring about a moment so, so dear to many. Why isn’t Dr. Debbie on retainer at publishing houses? Seems like a no-brainer. If she says, don’t buy it, I don’t buy it.

About 8-12, I think. I don’t have a copy here, but I’ll try and post images from inside of the book - for each of the 8 paintings there are lots of details to look for, and interesting info about them

Such a sad legacy. When her Dad’s racism is so out of control and she just felt relief it could be coming to an end when he was shot. Wow! I’d send it to Nikki Haley. Think twice, Nikki!

This is a fascinating article: CNN: Her father was the ‘most dangerous racist in America.’ She wants a different legacy for her sons.

Post election Saturday night with a book - bliss. And my first recommendation in a long time. The brilliance of ‘Girl, Woman, Other’ tempted me to read earlier work. This one is confirming my view that she is one of our most compelling contemporary writers.

Stop excusing adults who did said and did racist things as "products of their time." That absolves them of personal choice & responsibility. There were others who lived in the same place & time who fought against racism.
