To the best of my knowledge, when the statutory duty has expired, nobody keeps in touch with care experienced people. Certainly, regulators & monitors do not follow up to see how care plans worked once they are discharged, anywhere in the UK. Consultation very poor.

The “Forget Me Not Garden” will be the first permanent garden in England dedicated to parents and wider family members affected by adoption. It is a place to remember children lost to adoption

Looks really interesting👍🏽 I do hope there will be a commitment to providing support and mediation to both special guardians and birth parents-there are times when external help is needed to get things back on track & it can be hard to access this.

If you know a young woman aged 16-25 who would like to come to our fabulous support group The Key in the city centre on Wednesday mornings, get in touch. It's for those who have experienced, or are at risk of experiencing, an unhealthy relationship with anyone. Creche available.

Adoption reunion is not the “happy ending”. It’s discovering and unpacking years (51 in my case) of history, unanswered questions, loss, hidden feelings & emotions that were tucked away that came flooding like a tsunami. It was discovering a huge bfamily who had a prosperous life

If I could give all adopted people a gift, it would be the freedom to tell their story.

I think it's important for all the care experienced family of all ages, in all settings everywhere, in all our diversity, & all those of our friends to stay standing, keep shouting & pressing until the repeated messages for reform from the community are acknowledged & accepted.
