Sort of, but I’m often starting from polygon soups rather than point clouds or volumetric data, so I’d prefer to avoid round-tripping through implicit surfaces, to maintain topology and precision when possible.

What’s the best comprehensive text on mesh processing (including simplification, hole-filling, CSG, and fairing/chamfering)? Botsch et al is a good survey, but I’m looking for a little more breadth and depth.

I would be comfortable with this convention if it happened. I admit that I’m biased, but it seems like reserving FloatN for IEEE formats is a good default. Folks coming from the TF side probably feel differently.

What would your preferred nomenclature be (keeping in mind that bikeshedding over nomenclature and—to a much lesser extent, formats—is what kept us from having a half-precision type in Swift for this long)?

Float16 (aka half) in Swift will greatly ease the pain of interop with Metal shader code. Hope this proposal moves forward swiftly 🙂

Same old Interface Builder crashes, but otherwise robust for me. Mostly writing Obj-C/C++ though, so I may not be exercising some otherwise-common code paths.
