The Administration assures us, ladies and gents, that it fully supports the (horrible, no good, awful, totes demoralizing) ethics program.

Walter - who are they kidding?
Anita Smithson Jul 27

She just cries & complains about the same standards CPAS are held to when auditing & maintaining independence for the SEC.
Tracy Jul 27
She has the most crap flying out her mouth. Some people actually adhere to standards.

Honestly, if it's such a demoralizing burden to fill out the forms, maybe she should work in the private sector.
Anita Smithson Jul 27
Yeah, if you have the privilege and pleasure to serve America, do everyone a solid and go thru the ethics program. If you don't want to-quit

Of course, I work for a private law firm and we carefully scrutinize conflicts of interest every day. Because...ETHICS!

Serving the public requires independence "in fact" & "appearance". Government watchdog groups must change this going forward.
Tracy Jul 27
For the person who says I made that quote up, it's an ETHICS STANDARD required by CPAS who do US SEC work.

If doctors & licensed accountants are held to ethics standards, why not politicians too? they are also meant to protect public integrity!

No offense, Walter, but who even KNEW about the Office of Government Ethics before this administration?!
Stephanie Holte Jul 27
Maybe not. Almost every company I have worked for has a written Code of Conduct that must be signed as condition of employment.

Because what now? Ethics are for chumps, Gretchen. 😉
Anita Smithson Jul 27
You are right - they do have a code of ethics! Maybe not so many disclosure forms though. I still vote KA gets into the private sector ;)
