One of the most interesting tools for thought I've seen recently: Nototo lets you build a virtual memory palace of your notes I love seeing new approaches like this. It's so clear we're only just scratching the surface of digital tools for thought

Do you need to cast it, though? Everyone can have the board open on their own device — which is probably the behavior they want to drive for a collaboration tool (not a presentation tool) 😊

My 5yo asked, “How big is a wolf?” So I Google it... Google’s first result is the option (in browser!) to place a realistic wolf in the room with us so we can walk around it and see for ourselves. Magical. The closest I have felt to a Young Lady’s Illustrated Primer.

I remember when Ta-Nehisi Coates once said "Racism is not merely a simplistic hatred. It is, more often, broad sympathy toward some and broader skepticism toward others."

I’ve somehow reached an equilibrium where I only listen to Liszt and Lizzo 🤷‍♀️ RIP my jazz hobby. Maybe I can get a triple entente going soon.

Casper is a very inefficient wealth transfer from venture capitalists to prestige podcast makers and I’m here for it.

I was so incredibly sick the last five days. 2020 might be the year that I start walking around with a 14-door pill box strapped to my leg like I’m Lara Croft.

Queer people don't grow up as ourselves, we grow up playing a version of ourselves that sacrifices authenticity to minimise humiliation & prejudice. The massive task of our adult lives is to unpick which parts of ourselves are truly us & which parts we've created to protect us.

Neither design nor work culture should be driven by "What if the developers are sitting idle without anything to build!" Going into 2020 we shouldn't be talking about creating software and systems like it's an industrial assembly line.

This is especially true for design, a field built on centuries of research in color and composition theory, behavioral psychology, etc. The best designers are students of history.

Working in startups is funny because you're encouraged to painfully extract understanding through first principles thinking when, really, it'd often be better to just read a book and see that the truth was already found in 1622 or something.

10 years later I can walk into a Wahoo’s Fish Taco’s and point out a sticker on the wall to my kids that I touched in some way. (was design lead where these were printed). Meanwhile 99% of the apps I worked on this decade are gone and forgotten.
