Been wondering that myself this week, seems to have suddenly gotten very aggressive about removing old active cases, for us to hit hundred of new cases per day and the number of active cases DROP by several hundred for the first time is super weird

That’s very reasonable. Probably why other settings like doctors have Dr Phil or random stuff. But i know government offices traditionally prefer to have the news on as their fun programming 😕

News is the standard choice for most government office public areas and under Trump the federal government has shifted from cnn to fox as preferred channel. Not hard to make the leap for locals to do that for WV too

WV has hit 36% of total turnout in 2016 one week before the election

Statewide it shows 60% of all cases in WV ever have been something “other” than white or Black while only 0.5% are explicitly Black. Is this the case of bad data? Or did something change over the summer and nonwhite communities in WV really did get decimated by COVID

What is going on in Wyoming county? They’ve been red on both metrics for a week and 96% of the 73 cases this week are classified as something other than “white” in demographics.

It happened: Hays Co., TX just became the first county in America - to my knowledge - to surpass its total 2016 turnout. Four years ago, it cast 72,164 total votes. With more than a week left, 73,277 people there have already early voted.

These look like photos from the set of a sci-fi film but they actually show Washington State Dept of Agriculture workers in protective suits vacuuming hundreds of 2-inch-long invasive Asian giant hornets from the first nest found in the U.S.

Even in the follow up tweets, he has no mention of health care, minimum wage, climate change (beyond clean up ocean and cleanest air around) or education. This is the best they put out and it’s not even a generic list of good categories

Yep! MA was all the way into late September! that’s why you saw the attention on Ed Markey and Joe Kennedy just a few weeks ago.

A lot of states do it separately like that 🤷🏻‍♂️ It’s a little like how many WV city elections were in late June or July instead of with the primary. And then some states like LA just jump straight into the general with no primary for a lot of the races

That august ballot was for the Florida state primaries. He voted by mail in March for President, in August by mail for down ballot primary races, and now in person early for the general

There just aren’t senate results, they didn’t do a poll. It’s not an embargo

Yea, I can’t decide if this helps or hurts Dems in the sample, but it does basically make it useless. For a state as white and suburbless as WV, education and probably gender will be the deciding partisan factors this year. It’s also a robocall only poll, which highest error

And there is no weighting for education in the final results. For a state as white as WV, it’s malpractice to ignore education in 2020

No, they only weight by age, gender, and party it says. But they don’t provide enough detail to try to adjust ourselves
