Romney is the first senator to vote to convict a president of his own party, but it seems just as notable to me that he was also the party's previous presidential candidate

Question: how can LA policymakers reduce traffic, pollution, and housing costs? Answer: stop forcing apartments and stores to build parking. My op-ed in today's has more:

Nice piece here on the history and future of a system that, from the perspective of the entrenched majorities it replaced, elected too many “kooks, communists and Negroes” to which I say, bring it...

SC 2020, then, is a kind of perfect storm for crossover voting incentives (or the disincentives are low anyway). An early open primary, no GOP primary opposite it and with no partisan public oath. 10/

This took me a long time to understand: homes get cheaper over time if & only if enough new ones are being built to keep up w/ population. The California finding “it takes 65 million years for new construction to become affordable” is a locally specific symptom of underbuilding.

For years, California police officers come into court & testified as “gang experts.” But many of the ppl they convicted--all black and brown--were not in a gang. It was all made up. And the scandal is only getting bigger and worse.

The Bay shouldn't need to subsidize a family of four earning $120,000. It should build market rate housing until there are no longer subsidies necessary
