Around 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, a propane gas leak in Shiley Hall required students to evacuate the building, according to Gerry Gregg, director of Public Safety. The Portland Fire Department was called to ventilate the building with fans, though no one was injured, Gregg said

Today is World Suicide Prevention Day. In the academic quad, small flowers made from tissue paper can be seen, placed by early this morning. These represent the average number of college students who have died by suicide each year.
