I tried Slic3r and it looks kinda usable!? (The Prusa fork didn't work)
Set the layer thickness to the thickness of your acryl sheets.
File-> Silce to SVG (Ctrl+G)

lazywebs: does anyone know of a piece of free software that can slice SVGs from e.g. FreeCAD objects for _stacked_ laser-cutting?
I know F360 has this; and I know of solutions for slicing interlocking (rather than stacked) parts; but I’d love to make a sturdy, stacked design.

for reference, I’m looking to make something like @DigilentInc’s awesome acrylic cases — they’re both super sturdy and look really nice in transparent
ideally, I’d be able to slice these from a model that could also be sliced for DIY 3D printing pic.twitter.com/gunRvjvfPV

Ooh — thanks! I didn’t see the “slice to SVG” option hidden in the menu; this definitely looks worth checking out.
Will tweet something after I test it. :)

It isn't perfect because it does not put the slices on different layers, but that's not too hard to fix thanks to SVG being XML.
