One technically wasn’t at a sensitive site, it was up in the atmosphere and sprayed radiation all *over* the landscape. Again, Russia. 🤷‍♀️

Reading “An End to Suffering: The Buddha in the World” by Pankaj Mishra. Some of the European orientalists were real geniuses and ascetics. But this passage: “He, a man from England, one of the crowd there; here the absolute ruler of Asia” reminds me of some bad recent events.

By now we all should know that whenever you see "claims no hazardous material was released" and "Russia" in the same sentence, the only appropriate response is to choose your least painful method of suicide and have it on standby.

The context of the Russian implies that by “glass” they mean windows, not lab glass. The windows could have been knocked out by the pressure wave without breaking *all* the lab glass, but I’m willing to bet some was damaged. They question is: what, if anything, got released?

This paper should be a bombshell. Due to the electoral college and the extreme blue-state concentration of Democrats, Republicans are expected to win 65% of presidential contests in which they narrowly lose the popular vote.

Damn, I feel this thread. Lost my dad at 20, married at 24: big open place at that table. My wife lost touch with her dad for a decade, so we were both dadless that day. Best thing I ever did for the family was hire a private eye to track him down 7 years later. Helluva reunion
