September 2015. Westduinpark, between Scheveningen and Kijkduin is one of the largest nature reserves in The Hague, Netherlands. Anton Corbijn took this photo of U2 there which was used to publicise "The Joshua Tree 2017" tour. Give or take a dune, this is the same general area!

4th February 1980. Cork Country Club Hotel, Ireland. U2 photographed on the roof of the hotel by David Corio for a feature in the NME. The hotel is now known as the Montenotte and a roof garden now exists where U2 posed

9th February 1981. U2 played The Underground Club at Sergelarkaden, Sergels Square, Stockholm. These great photos by Bernt Styrmer capture how cramped, sweaty and noisy it must have been. The now defunct venue was located in the underground shopping arcade seen in the final photo

22 Nov 2000. U2 In Rio de Janeiro for the "Walk On" video directed by Jonas Åkerlund. The band performed the track at the space below the Museu de Arte Moderna. They were also filmed at the Mirante Dona Marta Helipad which overlooks the statue of "Christ the Redeemer"

Dublin Summerhill Tenements. (1)-In 1978. (2)-Early 1982.. U2 photographed by Colm Henry during demolition at the video for "A Celebration" single, released in April 1982 . Note the "27 steps" the kids are stood on. (3 & 4) Today, the area is now the Gardiner Street Playground.

14 Oct 1980. U2 play KRO Studios at Hilversum, Holland, In Dutch "KRO" stands for "Catholic Radio Broadcaster" I've often wondered whether U2 were inspired by it for the U2 ROK 12" of "Fire" (featuring live tracks from Boston). Today the site is being developed into apartments.
