Alstom have this week completed a refurbishment of the first of 27 Class 175 trains at our facility in Widnes, which entered passenger service on Monday. The train is part of the £40 million fleet investment in long distance trains

Hi Allison. We're investing £800 million in brand new trains, which are being built and will enter service from 2022, replacing our older trains. Over half of these new trains will be built in Wales. By 2023, the entirety of our current fleet of trains will have been replaced

Hi Dan. We've already acquired five Class 153 units this year, which have increased our capacity, and we'll also be introducing a range of different types of trains by the end of the year, of Classes 170, 230 and 769, and also Mark 4 intercity carriages

NEWS: A plaque has been unveiled at Carmarthen station to commemorate the Centenary of the ending of the First World War last year, remembering the brave railwaymen attached to GWR Carmarthen who sacrificed their lives for their country in battle.

Hi Allison. Our oldest trains, including the Pacers, will be withdrawn at the end of this year. All the trains that are remaining with us beyond the end of the year are being refurbished
