What I don't think many cis "allies" understand is just *how many* people out there agree with the Trump memo that basically says trans identities are bullshit. Make no mistake. This leak is a bellwether for a Culture War on trans identity. It's a wedge political issue.

After the Kavanaugh vote, the leak of the Trump memo is infuriating because they are interrelated by cis white Christian heteropatriarchy. The Moral Right was never defeated entirely. This is what a dying animal looks like when backed into a corner: lashing out at a small group.

Trump's only argument is that "Pence told me to do it."

Trump says transgender policy seeks to 'protect the country' The only thing Trump is interested in protecting is the bigotry of his evangelical Christian right, transphobic, homophobic, racist, sexist, xenophobic base.

But the truth is that it's a double-bind for trans women athletes: When we win, it's 'unfair.' When we don't win, it's because we're just not that good. We're screwed no matter what happens. Transmisogyny produces countless double-blinds for trans women.

Trans folks in the US: I know you're scared shitless of what's coming next from the Trump administration. Things are bad. Really bad. But we still have each other. We have our local communities. We've been through worse in the past and yet we're still here. ✊

The Olympics has already looked into this. I suggest you look into the research that went into their policy making. Fairness is about following the rules and the rules say trans women can compete.

You have zero evidence that trans women who have been on HRT for two years have a 10-12% advantage.

Trans women who compete have to have been on HRT for at least two years, making them unlike any of the cis men competing.

Yeah and we do separate by sex: male and female. But it's still fair for trans women to compete with other females. Their advantages are minimal and not greater than the 10-12% that separates males and females in elite performance.

It's just obvious that some discrimination is permissible e.g. Weight categories in boxing What's your point? Just say it.

I have zero interest in continuing in dialogue with you because you are like a broken record, repeating the same talking points over and over.
