Had a great day of diving with today. What is crazy, we first started chatting on twitter in Dec 2015 and finally met in person Feb 2020. 2 dives, 94 minutes bottom time, 75ft max depth, 74 degree water, Great visibility.

Got into 3-d printing in a big way recently, as did . Latest: swept triangle from . 20hr print at 0.15mm, 60% speed, in shiny blue TTY3D PLA on a Prusa i3 Mk2S. Just needs a little sanding - very pleased!

I'm looking forward to it too. Combining two things I love into one weekend. Diving and sharing knowledge.

Why do companies think that making food commercials with people crunching chips, slurping drinks, or any form of smacking is appealing and would make someone want to purchase their product? It is disgusting and annoying and makes me promptly mute or change a channel.

Exactly. Up until then, they had mostly seen data in Excel. I started by showing them a seemingly boring Excel spreadsheet full of data and calculations, then I opened Power BI desktop and showed them some rich visuals of the same data. I had their attention then.

I had the honor this week of being invited to speak about careers in databases and do a demo on data visualization to a college class. At the start, 2 said they were interested in the career field, at the end, over half of the class. I call that a win. was a huge hit.
