Thankful for many things, but mostly this YAML parser written in bash as a "while read line ; do" loop I just found. You can do* a lot with egrep and sed! *please don't.

I will never get tired of the movie 24 Hour Party People. It’s like my Shawshank. Which I will also never get tired of.

Wrap an entire turkey tightly in several layers of plastic wrap and you will see what I mean!

has a whole thing about using deli cups for things besides food. They are a miracle product.

This is how you do it. If you’re a normal home and (a) ever low on plastic wrap or (b) not using plastic wrap or (c) buying more than once every 3 years, you’re doing it wrong.

Amazon has like 8 brands and they’re all cheap. I don’t understand why anybody ever buys those pathetic grocery store rolls.

The go-to whiskys in this house are Dronach and Kilchoman, for whatever that’s worth. :)

I would be loyal to a place that sent me beer in deli cups for the rest of my life.

I have a decanter that I pour the bottom quarter of every bourbon in, so it’s some weird mix of Wild Turkey, Grandad, Forester, and Four Roses, but I’m alternating that with Hibiki and it’s working great.

I spatchcocked our 18 pound bird on Monday and wrapped it in 6 layers of food service wrap. Felt like Shelob. Super convenient. Didn’t even put a dent in the roll. You will never, ever run out of a serious roll of food service wrap.

Don’t buy cling wrap at a grocery store like a chump. We bought a Reynolds food service roll like 3 years ago, and I am _just now_ replacing it, and I use it for everything. And for like $25.

Ordinarily this is the time of year when I evangelize deli cups, and you should have several hundred deli cups in your house, deli cups are amazing, but the hero of this T’giving was commercial-size food service wrap (Reynolds is fine).

Even if you don’t love turkey, and I don’t love turkey, turkey stock is a phenomenal stock.

He’s not wrong, though. Turkey carcasses are kind of a miracle. It is absolutely a sin to throw them away.

Mustache rock on the radio, potatoes crisping in the oven, turkey coasting to a finish on the grill, whiskey in my glass, I may have nailed today.
