I'm trying to remember some famous writer quote about every novel being a monster you battle and kill, or something. Does that ring a bell with anyone in terms of the source? all i'm finding on google are tips about writing stories with monsters. :(

hmm, I'm not sure that I consider using a talk-to-text feature with smartphones "writing." that's more like regular communication, in my opinion. but sure, it makes it easier sometimes.

I'm always surprised when I work with experienced people in tech (not even engineers) who have almost no understanding about IP and rights usage. It's probably my former life as a composition teacher where I became suspicious about plagiarism at every turn.

It's so cool to see the Github repos for Adobe's docs at . Here's a sample page with an "Edit this page" link that takes you into the Github-flavored Markdown source:

One of daughters graduated from middle school today, tomorrow another graduates from high school and prepares for UCSB. Yet another is preparing to enter a STEM program next year. Life is moving on and forward for everyone, it seems. (Only I am stationary.)

The border collie! I love it. I also like the canary in coalmine metaphor. Reminds of a post by here:

Sometimes I think I have the wrong paradigm in my head. Maybe not "docs are part of the product." Instead, docs are the watchdog of the product. I don't know. Like a check and balance? Maybe just a crazy Friday notion.
