a message popped up on my screen but i disregarded it. then tried to remember which app it came from -- not gmail, not linkedin, not voxer, not a text, not outlook, not chime, not slack, not twitter. hmmm, is it any wonder i can even focus with all of these apps?

You can't beat a giant T-rex made of cardboard and moving hands as well as sound effects, complete with his own little puppy between his feet.

My daughter's STEM group started out with an elaborately connected Rube Goldberg contraption; most children thought it was a make-your-own station, so they dismantled it and and customized their own Rube G. machines. A testament to desire for hands-on activities.

busy weekend -- one daughter has Young Maker exhibit in Maker Faire, another daughter has epic soccer game in downpouring rain, another daughter has senior prom with all her friends preparing hair/makeup/dresses at our house. I get to play supportive dad role.

Friday afternoons are starting to become my most productive time of the week. I have all the context of what I've been working on all week, and after 1pm I don't receive any more email. It's like being on a plane or something.

Yeah, I'm getting to that post. Probably next week. BTW, although I missed your session, I heard great feedback about it from others.

Although I wasn't actually expecting it, I got a tremendous amount of insight out of the latest conference. I came away with a couple of major ideas I'm planning to implement in my docs and other activities. Am curious to see how it all plays out.
