BTW, Nigeria will next week launch a new Visa Policy that has some really far-reaching reforms. Will include new Visa-on-Arrival regime for holders of African passports + several other reforms. Overall aim is to make it easier & faster for intending visitors to get Nigerian Visas

Several NEW Visa Classes expected to be launched, to cater to different categories of people.
Among others, I hear that citizens of countries that offer Nigerians multiple-year visas will now be eligible for a new category of multiple-year Nigerian visas.

From what I hear there will also be a new category of “suitable” visas for journalists, sports people, clergy, etc — who until now have had to apply for Business Visas.

Some of the beneficiaries of the planned new Visa Policy will be expatriates working in Nigeria. @nigimmigration says there will be a new visa category to make it easier for family members and friends to visit you from abroad.

Also new category of Residency Visas for people who bring in significant foreign capital to Nigeria.
Fingers crossed. Official launch of Policy is next week, so stay tuned for the official document. Take this thread as a teaser, not a definitive outline.

For these Visa Policy Reforms to work you need to underline them with technology. Hence MIDAS - the Migration Information and Data Analysis System (MIDAS) - a global travel security standard - launched in 5 Nigerian International Airports late 2019, with support of @UNmigration. pic.twitter.com/LzpoS6fZQS

Great idea! Lets ease the challenge of travel to Nigeria - open Nigeria to business and tourism. Too much revenue that would find happier landing in Nigeria is being lost to Ghana and other more open economies. Lets reverse this.
