I generally don't agree with your positions and I think the Spectator is an appalling right wing comic. BUT, on this issue I fully agree with you. Free speech should of course be encouraged at Universities in particular. Open debate is a vital element in all civilised societies.

It sounds like what's going to happen is that the college is going to reveal what her views are, explain they had a,choice of losing 1 speaker or 5, & Ms Todd will have her most transphobic quotes highly publicised, & her critics publicly pointing out the problems with her theory

You mean her speach will be publicly debated, and she'll have an opportunity to refute her detractors.

Free speech. Unless you're Tommy Robinson. No free speech allowed for you. Hypocrite.

Before I can make an opinion on this I need to know what Todd's views are and what the objections by the individuals concerned were. Until then it's just looks like transphobia dressed up in vague principles.

It shouldn't matter what her opinions are. If you only defend 'speech' that you agree with then you aren't an advocate for free speech at all. Appreciate there are boundaries, but the 'trans' debate, by any sane measure, is well within those boundaries.
