100% agreed. We made a concerted effort at to make it easier to contribute, and we've seen the median time to get approval drop to minutes, not days. In response, we're seeing a lot more open source activity

My personal favourite is using a single-node kubeadm install. It's pretty easy (just the kubeadm setup and remove the taint on master) and gives a "vanilla" experience without some of the magic that minikube/docker for windows/mac does.
