New blog from my blogging buddy Mel who recently discovered the delights of Braemar. Totally resonates as I remember being blown away by the place when I first visited too. Also love the “we’ll talk about it when I get home” line - one my husband utters frequently! 😂

Ha ha “we’ll talk about it when I get home” I known that phrase well! 😂 Pods look@fab and glad you’ve discovered how awesome Braemar is.

I’d sooner buy new waterproofs than carry a brolly into the hills. Can’t think of one occasion over the years (even in torrential downpours) were I’ve cursed not packing one. 😂

Really excited. Been looking at hotels for weeks now and was tempted to go back to the place we’ve stayed at twice before as it’s fab but thought for a special anniversary Kimberly looked lovely, plus new neighbourhood to explore. 😊

Casper at the Italian Chapel, which was built during World War II by Italian Prisoners of War, who were brought to Orkney and worked on the construction of the nearby Churchill Barriers. Great pic, ta!

This was a chance sighting. I popped onto my hotel balcony for fresh air before bed et voila! This was just a quick iPhone point and shoot to capture the moment. There’s light pollution and everything but if they’re strong enough like this your iPhone will pick them up. 😍

5 more weeks and I’ll be back in incredible Iceland. Hotel Reykjavik Marina here we come (again)! Also if it’s not too much trouble I’d like to be able to snap the Northern Lights again from my hotel room balcony using an iPhone. 😜

The Wee White Dug enjoying a quick pit stop during his walk on the Dalmeny Estate this morning. That’s Dalmeny House behind him. The ancestral home of the Earls of Rosebery was completed in 1817.
