I never quite understood this rhetoric myself. I am not British, but I have always found British food, specifically English food, very filling, solid, earthy, and great on the palate. No need for a ton of spices that just mask the food's real taste. At least all the time!

My personal prediction is that, in the long run, the U.K will gain more than it loses.

The first part seems rather logical. Not sure about the second bit.

Yes, I was referring to the podcast. Thank you - it worked nicely. Let me try and see if I can manage (at least the main points) with my very rudimentary Russian. Very interesting topic - thanks for sharing!

Handcoding LOGO programs and eagerly waiting for the school lab to open, way back in the third standard (grade for Americans). Unfortunately, those were the best days! It's been downhill ever since.. hahaha!

Any chance the lectures could be recorded (maybe in the future?) That would be awesome, and it would help tons of people interested in Haskell. The book is a veritable gem. Video lectures would be the icing on the cake!

The Endlosung is yet to come, and it will be far worse than its perpetrators imagine - for all, including themselves. I don't see much hope for the future of the country. The damages being sustained today might well be irreparable.

Absolutely. That's precisely why I clarified in my previous comment that it's just about that particular comment - regardless of Zig or not. The comment itself just seemed to make no sense to me on its own.

I mean the premise itself seems rather self-limiting (and needlessly smug). With those constraints, only C and maybe a couple of other languages (x86 assembly? Embedded Lisp?) would qualify. And yet we've already had OS courses done in Rust in universities before Rust was 1.0!

Google Books is the most frustrating product I use on a regular basis. It’s *almost* incredible (search all books instantly!). But instead it feels like what you’d get if JSTOR ran Wikipedia.
