Yesterday, I picked out some toys for this toy drive for children of moms who are in prison. I hope some of you will too. I think this toy drive is really important because most people don’t look out for children who are hurt by the prison system.

Here’s the pitch: What if we created a society with a safety net strong enough that no child would fall through the cracks no matter how poor or unprepared their parents are?

Hey I’m Bresha Meadows. Some of you may know me from the news or because you supported me when I needed it. I’m grateful to everyone who helped me and I want to help do the same for others. I live far away from my collective, but I want to do all I can from where I am.

#AbolitionMeansNoPrisons 16h
I've been thinking about what the most effective abolitionist organizations have in common. Mostly, they center mutual aid, they take political education seriously, they create theory through practice, and they are rigorous in holding the line re: reformist reforms.

Remembering the first cop who raped me...how he said assume the position or Imma cuff you...about how bad it hurt me and how I cried as he forced himself on me. I thought it was over till he grabbed my purse and took $20 And said thanks for the lunch money.

Friends this is my first piece in a peer-reviewed journal & it’s on the body of work I deeply care about - organizing at the nexus of state violence, gender-based violence and Islamophobia. I just got the book in the mail and can’t believe Im in it with such powerful writers! 😌
