With talk of the straw ban, can we discuss that I am at an event the the la forum and ordered bottles of water and they then poured the bottles into plastic cups with lids and straws. Doubling the plastic use for a cup of water. 🤷🏻‍♀️

When told me she was planning to donate a kidney, I was so moved by her innate selflessness and desire to destigmatize and normalize a very low-risk act of goodness that can give another person a new lease at life.

Because the trach bypassed his vocal cords, we weren’t traveling that path of first sounds and words like we thought we would be. Charlie couldn’t even cry beyond a wheezy whistle of air.

“I gave her ⁦”Are You There God, It’s Me Margaret” & “The Carrie Diaries.” My daughter carefully handed me the 2nd book 3 days later, saying, “When you read this, I don’t want you to think you’re a bad mother.” “Oh, dear lord.” ⁦
