Update: The Niagara Region has been approved for $4 million for the barriers in the bridge. The design and engineering for barriers are currently being completed. The Niagara Region is taking action.

In recent months, there has been controversy surrounding Burgoyne Bridge since its reopening regarding suicides and attempted suicides. The Niagara region has planned to install safety barriers, however, no action has been taken yet.
