The announces bursaries withdrawn 21-22 for Art and Design. Hugely detrimental to subject and next generation of teachers. Without bursary recruitment at 69% & 31 % shortfall of art and design NQTs. Whilst Classics recruited over 260% and Biology 175%. Unfair.

Excellent thinking link... we don’t need binary choices in education, we need well rounded individuals with transferable skills. Always. That’s why this government doesn’t function properly.

Amy, excellent forensic research. My faith in has been zero for a decade. I’m not sure if I’m now in the minus zero category- but organising a Xmas party in a brewery wouldn’t exactly be their strength.

A day without Zoom beckons. Lots to do, admin stuff like writing minutes, resource writing, organising a big webinar ... but all quietly by myself. Bliss. I think. See you on the other side.

Such a great meeting, it felt really significant in the current crisis that such powerful examples of Art Craft & Design Education are shining a light on the way forward, to reimagine the education system with the arts and interdisciplinary creative practice at the heart ❤️

It was a fantastic meeting. The evidence presented by everyone who spoke this evening illustrated wonderfully just how diverse and important Art, Craft & Design Education is now, and should remain so in the future. Thank you for the invite.

I teach because a good education is the best start young person can have. I can consistently talk about all things creative with enthusiasm and strongly believe young people need creativity in their schooling. I teach art because it doesn’t feel like work 🙂
