So let's take some time to be scared and sad, and then let's do what Justice Ginsburg did until the end: Fight because it matters.

It’s tough to hang up on bugs while reviewing betas since they can in theory be fixed. That said, we certainly point out bad or frustrating bugs if we are aware of them. Personally I’ve run into almost no issues in watchOS 7, it’s super stable for me.

If you read the review you’ll find that there can be a lot of compelling work in an iterative update :-)

This year’s watchOS 7 is an excellent iterative update on the Apple Watch’s solid foundations. Don’t miss my annual review where I break down what’s new and where the OS is going. watchOS 7: The MacStories Review

The one and only time I’ve used Walkie Talkie as well 😂 I had high hopes for it back then but it just joined the list of flops

’s new Mac code editor Nova is out today. I’ll have more to say on it later, but it’s excellent. I’ve been looking for a Sublime Text replacement for years. This might finally be the editor I was waiting for.

Love it when a hardware event announces a bunch of new software features for the OS I’m reviewing and then they release said OS the next day. 🙃

Sadly there don’t seem to be any changes around cycling workouts this year. They focused on strength training this time around, and also added a Dance workout. Maybe next year for cyclists 🙃

For sure! I think I mention something like that at the end right before the conclusion. Definitely would make more sense, but designing your app for nonexistent features is dumb.

As always, here’s my MacStories Overview of everything new in watchOS 7: Not a huge release this year, but everything in it looks great. Sleep tracking and the new Shortcuts app are particularly welcome additions.

Normally, this kind of coverage wouldn't be possibile while and I are in San Jose for WWDC. This year, we figured we might as well use our time at home to make something special and work a lot more every day. It's going to be fun, and I can't wait 😎
