I am honoured to be the SNP candidate for Shetland in the upcoming by-election. Growing up in Shetland was a fantastic experience - It is a great privilege to be given the opportunity to represent the community that means so much to me.

This is a wilful misrepresentation of the truth. The UK income tax take for 2017-18 is lower than expected which means that Treasury deducted £737m more from our block grant in 2017-18 than they should have. The UK is simply correcting this forecasting mistake.

Just extraordinary that it is even necessary for MPs to take this action; and outrageous that the Conservative government opposed it.

I have made it clear that likely PM Boris must stop acting like a tin-pot dictator and ditch his plans to drag Scotland and the UK off the Brexit cliff-edge. Parliament has spoken; he must rule out the madness of undemocratically forcing through No Deal and he must do it now.

The Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) have stated the UK will fall into recession if there is a no-deal Brexit, confirming what and others have been warning for some time. This is not a price worth paying for a Tory Brexit!
