Legislation passed Tassies Lower House, debate guillotined, on the last sitting day. Has to get through the mildly progressive Upper House, where it may fail, and then be fought out in the High Court, again. The previous iteration fell foul in the HC due to implied freedoms.

The Huonville council election showed a softening of the conservative extreme. But endorsed Green may be a step too far.

Tas Libs new pokies 'fact sheet' highlights a 'tender' BUT not that this is only for the network operator's 2% of losses. Govt promised many times in 2016-17 BEFORE selling out to donors to conduct a tender for right to operate the machines. Now the licences are free

Excellent report on the unfolding Tasmanian poker machine scandal. The proposed tax rate is the same (indeed slightly less) as the industry itself suggested in their 2017 submission to the parliamentary inquiry! Time other media picked up on this.

Also interesting that Mr Mushroom was not aware right up until the election that the pub Pokies licences were NOT going to tender. Why didn't you tell him or Mr Misleading ?

Interesting that the "Network Operator" fee drops from the 30% taken by the Farrell family under the current Deed to just 2% and is the only element going to open tender. Which Network Gaming will get.
