i wonder if there's anything you can do with rotate origins. or yes if css gradients have radial gradients that might be easier (and less DOM elements)

the whole circle rotates? or you mean the arcs themselves since they all have different startangles? hmmm that's really interesting that if you apply the radialgradient first and then apply transform to your path the gradient isn't rotated along with it....

ah i see, did you end up having to make a radial gradient for each of them? i feel like that'd be how i'd end up doing it, or i might look into css gradients.

ah i think i'm understanding, so you want something like in but for the effect to go around the whole way, and also be the color as the donut or?

for me, i try to make it easy for clients to find me (instead of me finding them). i put my work out there, i give talks about what i do, write about what i do, do podcast interviews, etc. but i make sure to only take on things i enjoy.

yes! actually, i'd love to hear what you learn, bc i'm sorely lacking in this part.

only if you have more than ~3000 objects you're trying to visualize. otherwise svg is fine.

ah nice, chromajs also does that programmatically if you're interested!

this is basically me everytime i try to use SVG filters. also not quite sure what you mean by middle of big circle, i might be able to help better once i understand that part.

yes! but this took me SO LONG to realize. and it was liberating also to realize i owe them absolutely nothing for their mass email, least of all my time.

yup! but sometimes it still takes a while to realize all the things i've been doing that i really don't need to - they've been so ingrained in me.

yes! but it also took me so much time to realize that part about the emails. i used to take 30min writing email responses about why i'm saying no, and now i realize they prob copy+pasted theirs and it only took them a few min. so why am i spending all this time?

A few months into freelancing I realized it's ok to say no to projects that don't feel like a fit. This year I finally realized it's ok to say no to cold emails I'm not interested in and I don't have to justify all the reasons why. It feels great to protect my time like that.

And when our assignment was to do something with "snow", I couldn't help but try and use the build-in perlin noise function to make it snow 😏
