I'm doing a presentation on how being culturally competent impacts positively on service users from minority or disadvantaged groups. I'd really welcome any suggestions for reading materials or resources 🙂

I’m planning on starting my blogs up again but doing one maybe once a month so like a monthly round up of what I’ve been doing etc. With an extra blog or 2 of its been a busy week with the work I’m doing to help make change. Would people read my blogs / where should I put them?

This is an absolutely brilliant initiative ! Congratulations to all that contributed, collaborated to ensure this happened, really enjoyed reading the digital copy this morning. Poignant cover too - as always giving me plenty to think about.

I cannot recommend this book highly enough. Examples of how things are for some & just how it could be for many others if we had more trust & devolved power to those who love. It’s stunningly beautiful & we all need to read it & learn from Sara and the many other contributors.

It is .. talking to careleavers about what they would like from social workers this stood out. What would you like to say to student social workers about what was important to you?

Couldn’t agree more Becky! I loved the book so much I got 3 prints off it for my office. It’s my go to book after a tough day at work. I even read it to a group of campers on a Zoom call and it was such a positive experience for them all. Everybody needs to read it!!
