the latter. it could be [{ foo: 1, potato: 'one' }, ...] and it would work exactly the same way. no magic, just good design :)

Svelte v1 was very similar to Handlebars syntax, which inherited from Mustache {{ foo}} <p>foo is true</p> {{elseif bar}} <p>foo is false but bar is true</p> {{/if} JSX proved double curlies were unnecessary, so we ditched them for v2, and tightened other things up a bit

the neat thing about this is that you can use any object as the value — if you use event.currentTarget.value in an event handler like *ahem* some frameworks force you to, the value has to be a string. Bindings are a smarter way to handle user input. Demo:
