I think a fork shouldn't assume the identity of the source repo for public sharing purposes. I definitely think we should try to generate images for repos going forward, but not sure if we'll be able to prioritize that just yet.

I do this too! I used to have a bunch of like pared down templates for certain types of projects, but they'd inevitably fall into disrepair when things updated significantly and then I'd have to rebuild them from scratch.
