Sometimes I wonder if I’m being too hard on Apple. Maybe I’m just having bad luck. Maybe I’m over reacting thinking it’s just maybe not worth developing for macOS anymore.

For the sake of ANY DOUBT WHATSOEVER. Production Line will NEVER come out on ANY apple device. If I die, I will make sure its in my will to people inheriting the IP that they never ever release on such a broken pile of crap as OSX.

Blown away by the feedback on this one. It’s been such a long time it’s hard to remember how big Stack was in 2008. I’m glad people liked it!

Decals are such a pain in the ass 😖 I think I can finally say this model is finished, though

you can re-train yourself to replace 'guys' with 'folks' pretty easily, and it doesn't get in the way of sentence structure

This literally changed my life when I saw it online and realized I HAD to jailbreak my iPhone. That started my career in software design!

when I say 'more powerful', I mean it can drive a 120Hz display, and apps are always instant. The iMac could be 10x faster in raw speed and you'll still not be able to scroll at 60fps in Finder, just like the iMac Pro today

you can't embed a Today Extension in the same way you do others, with a build script?

I wouldn't buy any iMac? They're all identical to my 7-year-old one, and they don't get me closer to Face ID or ProMotion, or an OS that feels as fast as iOS on my iPad. The whole iMac lineup feels like a relic of a previous decade

Why would I want super-expensive, never-updated processors that are slower than desktop-class ones and don't have hardware video encoding? For most use cases, Xeon in Apple's desktop lineup is a liability, not a strength

too easy to blame Intel, but they seem to have no problem building exciting products over on the Surface side

that Surface lineup is looking pretty good right now. There's no reason an iMac should be still on a bloated whale of a 7-year-old design when my 5.9mm thin iPad is more powerful

Has there ever been an IDE that let you step through the build process in the debugger? Sometimes I wish I could.
