Gotta check your mobo specs for your m2 max speed. Mine's PCIe 2.0 and maxes out at 10Gbit unless I stick it in a real PCIe slot instead

Slight complication is that my M2 slot only does 10Gbit/s, so I need an add-in card to use my spare PCIe 2.0 x4 slot to bring it up to 2.5GB/sec (which is still short of the 3GB/sec max of the 970 EVO but still a huge increase from what I have)

It would be a shame if all of AppKit's effort into making Dark Mode work is wasted by making the preference an all-or-nothing affair; it's way too heavy-handed to run all apps like this permanently, so gotta imagine most people will just turn it off after the amusement wears off

If you get *really* desperate for the ability to change your Dark Mode setting per-app, you can turn on AppKit's debug menu and switch it there, but it doesn't persist between app launches 😛 And will surely be removed in a build or two. defaults write -g _NS_4445425547 -bool YES

It’s interesting that on consumer computer platforms, linker and executable format have historically been decoupled (like COFF .obj targeting PE .exe in Microsoft toolchains), but they’ve usually been matched in Unix toolchains (.o and executables are both a.out/ELF/mach-o)
