The Office for the Eastern District of New York just announced that Douglass Mackey, also known as “Ricky Vaughn” has been found guilty.
What’s his crime? Posting memes. For real. They claimed he tried to trick voters out of casting their ballots for Hillary Clinton in 2016. How’d he do that exactly? Through memes, apparently.
Federal prosecutors called the images part of a plot to disenfranchise black and women voters, but Mackey insisted that he was simply shitposting and sharing stupid memes.
Pictured is the image that got him convicted. Who would even fall for this? Are people not allowed to joke? I've seen numerous liberals make the same joke, telling Trump voters to stay home, or giving them bad instructions. Did anyone fall for it? Doubtful. Should they also be in jail?
