It would be better had you put "risk" not risk. We are not a risk. How it offends my heart & eyes, that word RISK a swastika of hateful angles Like the STING of being called NI**ER

This. you have an enormous reach and command massive respect. The words you choose matter. The neurotypical world looks to what you say & thinks that's what's OK. Your casual words shape their worldview & as a result lives. Risk is not an OK word

I appreciate your comment. I'm well aware of the negative valence and ugly history of word "risk" and speak against it in almost every talk I give. I was trying to correct for the article misframing the test as a "diagnosis," which it certainly isn't. I could have done better.

Last year I spoke with a geneticist who said there are many genes implicated in Autism and that it is embedded in our overall genome.

yes, there is no science to the idea of an autism gene. However, if they think they find something --as wrong as they are--a lot of healthy humans will never have a chance to live. Look at what is happening in Iceland with Downs.

Absolutely. A tragedy as every Downs child is an angel sent here to teach us about love patience and fun. It is very sad that they are being filtered out of existence.

If they spent all this time and energy making life better for autistic people they wouldn't have to be afraid of it anymore.

As far as I’m concerned - eugenics. There is more and more talk about similar things which makes me very nervous & worried. Like this here

Odant was a personal hero for the work he did on oxytocin, women’s bodies & freedom in childbirth. Here he talks about induced childbirth, asd & evolution. Scary when I think what it could be turned into in a setting similar to Handmaid’s Tale.

Most people don't. It's hard to process. Many people don't really think it's a bad thing. It's real & we are under attack just for being in the world. Always have been. What I find more frightening & heart gouging than anything is the SILENCE

Where are the people making a stand for us? I've seen the silence. The rise of eugenics. Trump - the rise of fascism; Eugenics is their essence. We are the mine canaries. HEAR US. What are YOU doing to do? THIS IS THE MOMENT.

I find this very disturbing. As a former teacher of Autistic pupils, the only testing necessary should be for their benefit, for example food intolerance or anxiety triggers. Definitely not in utero.
