When and how will A.I. become conscious? Will it take precautions before letting us know? Could the internet already have some level of consciousness? We hope this film adds some helpful nutrition to the Food For Thought trough.

If AI is anything like me, it will become conscious about half way through the second cup of coffee.

Interesting how we treat the second most intelligent species on the planet brackets (orangutan 🦧). We destroy its habitat without a second thought. Can we expect AI to do the same to us?

I seriously recommend @josh_um_clark's podcast titled "End of the World" who has an entire episode dedicated to the existential risk of A.I.

There is a quote I heard once, I cant remember the source. It said
"it isnt an AI that passes the turing test you need to fear but the one who fails it on purpose."
Always thought that was a very true and weighty statement

The alarm clock on my phone has no conscience. It wakes me up every day with no pity or consideration for my mental or physical well-being.

AI requires electricity. If we can't control it then at least we can pull the plug.

Unless it anticipates that before letting us know it's conscious. AI would be smart enough to gain consciousness and suss us out before letting on. Spreads itself across the globe viraly, we go to pull the plug and boom "Skynet"
