The impending closure of is sad news for Retford - they definitely brought something unique to the town! But it looks like good news coming for Matlock in November. Make sure you visit them when they open the new bookshop on Dale Road.

I never have a specific length in mind - it depends on the story (the Cooper & Fry novels range from 90k to 162k). But this one has gone through a few drafts, so it probably won't change now by more than a couple of thousand words (until my editor gets his hands on it anyway!).

I just checked the word count for the novel I'm working on, and it gave me a shiver considering the subject matter. It's at 99,666. 😮

"This book is set in England, near Ireland.... No animals are harmed in the writing of this novel. No sex, romance, religion, cursing or homosexuality.... It is not chick lit. It is a murder mystery for all adults." From a B&N review of DYING TO SIN. 🙂

Thank you! I'm afraid it may be a long wait to see them on screen now, though, since ITV pulled out of the project.

Nice to see DYING TO SIN making it to Amazon's 'Bestsellers in Women Sleuths'. Credit to Detective Sergeant Diane Fry, I think. 😀 And it's still only $0.99!
