In honor of Black History Month, can we PLEASE get a proper black streamers thread? If you stream regardless of platform, post here. Let's network!

Itβs hard though. These days when I post snark itβs usually in the heat of emotion & I feel Iβm standing up to some injustice. But Iβm ALWAYS embarrassed after the fact. I donβt want to be a person who puts negativity into the world & this platform gets the better of me sometimes

When I realized that my clapbacks were getting more followers than my analysis streams, blog posts, work, and actual trying-to-be-helpful design/writing tweets is when I stopped caring how many followers I had, tbh. I realized followers is a metric thatβs no longer useful for me.

What are some of the most interesting stat/skill checks you've seen in games? Ideally in conversations/narrative content, but open to any interesting things I'm not thinking about.

βImagine for a moment that the next Great American Novel was a point-and-click adventure game. Imagine it is a tragic ghost story about the American Dream where the ghost IS the American Dream; the tragedy is that it keeps haunting America because it doesnβt know itβs dead.β pic.twitter.com/QMNwm3M2tE

Here's your periodic reminder that basic research is only "useless" until it suddenly becomes the most important thing in the world. 20 years ago, coronavirology was an obscure sub-field the public never heard about. Good thing we funded it anyway. #nCoV

I really do wish large games would embrace the mantra that not all players need to participate in every aspect of your game. Things are so much more magical when they're self-directed and could have been missed but weren't.

My attitude toward lots of big games these days is like a pouty teen asked to do chores.
"Ugh, do I HAVE to do the fishing tutorial before I can do another battle? AND the crafting tutorial?! UGH WHY DOES THIS GAME NEED THIS MANY SYSTEMS??"

How to use a medieval bookmark:
1. Read.
2. Spin the volvelle to mark where you stopped reading (I-IV correspond to different sections of the page).
3. Close book.
4. Repeat as necessary.

On the one hand, maybe Iβd be pleasantly surprised. On the other hand, humans.
Iβve never been so on the fence about attending a reading in my life.

Thereβs a reading in SF next month and normally Iβd never pass up the chance to see a favorite artist but Iβm not sure on this particular author: they make these really adorable comics I love and I kind of donβt want to see the person behind the art in case they donβt live up.

Working on a hip hop JRPG and people just seem hype at the concept. That's got me invigorated. What are some aspects of hip hop culture y'all wanna see explored in the game? RT for reach!

βFor the first couple years you make stuff, it's just not that good. It's trying to be good, it has potential, but it's not. But your taste, the thing that got you into the game, is still killer. And your taste is why your work disappoints youβ βIra Glass
