Have had the pleasure of knowing for 10 years since we were at (and she was my TA) - loved hearing about what drives her work. So valuable to remember why we’re doing this sometimes!

So I obviously had to make up an evolutionary reason that unicorns have magical horns that heal animals, which isn't hard to do, it turns out.

In response to my 3 year old asking why unicorns have horns, I ended up talking about Darwin and evolution. Which, upon reflection, might not have been the best entry point for that discussion.

. points out that asking one of Franken's accusers how she feels about 'destroying a Senator's career' is the "perfection of victim blaming". Thank you for standing up in support of survivors of sexual harassment and violence.

Hi , wondering why you have clothes in the “boys” section of that say things like “President” and “Astronaut” on them, with no equivalent in the “girls” section (and also why you even have these sections). It’s 2019, time to update the messages.

Continuing my leisurely Friday afternoon reading of reports🤓: 56% of children of primary school age did not reach minimum proficiency levels in reading globally - and 87% of children in sub-Saharan Africa.

Surprised to read this in the latest and Gender Report: The number of adult illiterate women increased by 20 million in low-income countries between 2000 and 2016. There's been enormous progress, but so much more work to do.

Whenever I meet a little girl, I say: “I’m running for president, because that’s what girls do,” and we pinky promise so they’ll remember.

There isn't a single editor at who thought there might be a better picture to feature the democratic candidates? You really had to work hard to get a photo with no women or people of color in it.

If there's one thing we've learned -- and it's really the theme of our era entire -- it's that when you're a star (or powerful or wealthy or well-connected or the president) they let you do it.
