I'm teaching all week long. Nine hour days with my new cohort of preservice teachers. What about you?

I suppose. But then he shared it lightheartedly with no remorse. Like, "ha ha, no big deal, all is well." Um, no. It's not okay.

I'm aware of the research. It's part of why we don't let our kids bring their phones into their rooms.

I've never felt like that was my place in public. There are so many possible reasons and I never know the whole story.

And the sheer number of retweets and likes? That's cringey for me.

I understand that we differ a bit on cell phone usage. But the idea of a white man feeling totally okay disciplining a child in front of his mom? So bad. Just so, so, bad.

As an educator for 16 years and a dad for 15 years, I'd be horrified and angry if someone said that to one of my kids in public.

This tweet is really problematic for a few reasons: 1. Teachers shouldn't discipline a child they don't know. Like ever. 2. The mother was present and he didn't even notice. 3. The automatic impulse to a smartphone is "put it away" rather than "is this being used for learning?"

We rarely take our grey off leash. Soon we'll have a fully fenced backyard, though. We took her to a dog park and it was wild seeing just how fast she can run.

Also . . . I fly all the time (airplane not superpower) and I still get excited when it takes off.
