Powerful cold wind blowing N.W. across Saltram NT this morning. Lin spotted this oddity, a Red-crested Pochard (f) in the duckpond. 40+ Curlew in Blaxton Meadow took off and moved out of sight on to the banks of the Plym. A Song Thrush singing in a Yew.

Right on cue - 1 Woodcock flew out from roost at Haldon at 5.39pm which was good as a try on Saturday evening drew a blank - perhaps the mild weather has meant not so many around this winter ?

Windy & bright today. Pair Goldeneye landed near platform at Ireland Bay. A Great Crested Grebe and Tufted Ducks flying at Stokely hide. 1 Greylag Goose (later 6) amongst Canadas in the field above the bridge.

2 Tawny Owls roosting in their usual tree at Lyndford Arboretum at 12.55 although difficult to see with the branches blowing in the gusty wind. 16 Hawfinch reported in the paddock.

RSPBRadipole-Again. Always exciting to get a patch tick and even better to find it🤣😲. This breeding plumage Male Penduline Tit was feeding on Reed Mace in the corner near the viewing shelter this morning.
