Great answer. The question - I think from Nick Robinson - suggested haggling over Β£5m was β€˜showboating’ over a β€˜relatively small amount of money’. This is what Burnham said:

They waste Β£20m paying inflated prices for dubious PPE from connected companies most days of the week. They have spent Β£25m on consultants with Boston Consulting Group since August. But when it comes to supporting communities in the North...

I get the feeling that this moment will be replayed again and again and again. Politically, absolutely toxic.

What Burnham is doing isn’t extraordinary. It’s his job. Expect and demand more from your elected representatives. They are meant to stand up for you.

In June 40% of NHS beds stood empty. How many staff during this time did you ensure were trained to manage ICU/HDU beds? And in July? Or August? Any, any at all???

to put it into perspective, the Β£22 million the government is providing to support businesses in Greater Manchester during an actual pandemic is Β£30 million less than Boris Johnson spent on a bridge that doesn't exist in London

While scammed Β£25m for his own constituency, from public funds earmarked for deprived areas. That works out at Β£340 per person in Newark.

1. Words fail me watching Gov press conference:There you have it. Complete refusal from Gov to provide sufficient financial support for what could be 6 months of destitution for many across GM.All for a plan that the chief medical officer is not confident will work

"This is going to cost 65 million" "you can have 60" "But...it is going to cost..." "Screw you, it is 20 million now, should have taken the 60!" This is how gangsters work in Scorsese films. But there are people in Manchester like you who need the help.

Andy Burnham's base line was Β£65 million, which he wanted to use to help those most in need during tier 3 restrictions. Last year, UK arms exports were: Β£73million in ammunition, Β£43million in chemical/biological agents, Β£1.9billion in bombs/missiles. The system is broken.

Boris Johnson’s failure to get a Manchester deal with Andy Burnham and his own back-benchers is worse than yet another diplomatic disaster. It is proof that this awful PM is tearing Britain apart at the moment he aims to tear us out of EU. Demolition is his last and only talent
