Agreeing to bad contract terms doesn't just hurt you (though, yes, it CAN hurt you!) -- it is bad precedent. The publisher doesn't have impetus to make their terms better if people are agreeing to the shitty ones! You are making it harder for the next guy to be treated fairly.

. Hi. Expecting my colleague to go without their meds for even a day is ableist and shitty. What are you planning to do to rectify this situation?

Yesterday, I was describing a story concept about Black kids with magic to my dad and, without prompt, he said: “Gee, I wish you’d been a writer when I was a kid. I would have read more.” And the gravity of that nearly brought me to tears.

Women of color have more political power than ever before. We are Governors, Senators, Attorneys General, and Members of Congress. I stand with all of my sisters in Congress and across the country – we're not backing down and we aren’t going anywhere.

Please support Latinx authors. What our community is going through and what our children are witnessing is going to affect them for many years to come. They need these stories. We ALL need these stories. Please boost them and get them in the hands of so many who need an escape

Let’s be clear, it was the excitement of people like , , on the ballot during the midterms that led to the turnout that helped the Democrats flip the house. It’s not like the party had some grand strategy — and it’s clear there still isn’t one.

so it's okay if you're not a good enough writer yet. like most things, it's not permanent. it'll get better. you'll get better at knowing what you need to do to make it better. this 👆🏽 is basically every successful author's origin story, and it can be yours, too.

I've been told to go back to my country my entire life. It happened when I grew up in Nebraska. It happened where I worked in Chicago. It happens on Twitter. Now it seems it's happening from the White House. The one constant is it's always an ignorant shithead who says it.

i focused so hard on trying to avoid inheriting my parents’ negative traits that i let all these random neutral traits of theirs slip through, i realize as i rinse out a ziploc bag and prop it up inside-out to dry so i can reuse it at a later date
