The inaugural Hamtown Veterans Classic is Saturday, Nov. 10 at Smithfield High School. The event will honor veterans and active military and will run from 3-11 p.m. Tickets for adults are $7 and children age six to 15 are $4. Children under five are free admission.

The Western Tidewater Health District will be providing free flu shots at both campuses of Paul D. Camp Community College in Suffolk and Franklin from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. or until they run out on Saturday, Oct. 27. Flu shots will be given on a first come, first served basis.

The Isle of Wight school board meeting scheduled for tonight at 6 p.m. has been rescheduled to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 16. It will be in the same place, the Board of Supervisors Room at the Isle of Wight County Courthouse Complex.
