That's what I meant in saying that....he's been at this a while. Siakam, IMO, has already passed Gordon as a player, and there's no reason why he won't continue to improve.

Yeah and I should've been more clear....he's still young in age but he's been in the league now 5 seasons. He's improving but his ceiling is likely not as high as Siakam's considering what he is now 5 years in and what Siakam already is in 2.

I lost a relative today in the Sri Lanka attacks. It’s all so devastating. Hope everyone is keeping safe. Solidarity with the people of Sri Lanka.

Sharapova immediately jumps to mind as this not being quite on the mark. At least not when it comes to sports.

Siakam is clearly above both Vucevic and Gordon at this point. Neither are really young players anymore, either....unlike Siakam.

Irritated? No. Dismayed and embarrassed is more like it. Just goes to show how stupid and incredibly easily led astray the average person is.

No God would ever want this . .. Will this ever end . So many innocent lives lost . They were probably even praying for this wretched world at mass today . Strength to the families who have lost.

It's a testament to how much depth is in the sport today but also that the top guys/gals have been up and down this year overall and/or injured.

Lajovic-Fognini Monte Carlo final. I love it. Two true dirt ballers, offensive and aggressive players but do so in very different ways. Should be a fun match. Great to see two new guys in such a major stage at this kind of event although both obviously have been around so long.

Nadal played like shit vs Pella, so not surprised Fognini, who's been in top form emotionally/mentally this week and playing with energy from the crowd, and has given Rafa many issues in the past, was able to win today. Not worried about Rafa but he needs more matches.

What it's really about ultimately are these are rules created by white men from decades past that have been adopted by all and passed down although the culture surrounding baseball has changed and so have the faces within it. Yes, there are black/brown players who participate.

What constitutes American culture is different to different Americans. That's the problem. Not to offend but seems you and many others either don't or refuse to acknowledge that.

And the funny this is that there's almost never a legitimate explanation as to why people in baseball have such a mentality outside of the fact it's "always been this way".....it doesn't have to be. But entitlement and a desire to keep out "outsiders" leads to what we're seeing.

That goes for the anti-celebration crowd, that goes for the anti-analytics crowd. The hazing and the stupid rituals. It's all connected and all borne from the same us vs them mentality that ultimately hurts baseball, and is hurting our country.

Baseball culture remaining as stodgy as it is (while unironically having a theme this year of "Let the Kids Play") is connected in many ways to the overall situation we're facing in this country with Donald Trump, Trumpism. It's all connected.
